On January 30th, 2015 Fifth Harmony released their first album 'Reflection'. Some of y'all may not know who Fifth Harmony is, they are a group that was put together by Simon Cowell on the second season of X-Factor (USA). It was that classic tale of not being good enough as a solo artist but something that the judges heard that made them be like "YAS, they belong in a group". Funny thing is, it was the best decision ever. A little back end story to the back end story, They only had like 3-4 days to put something together to be at the judges house and they sang Shontelle's "Impossible" and blew that shit right out of the water. Not only was Simon Cowell impressed but Marc Anthony was too. Lauren, Dinah, Camila, Normani and Ally originally went by the name The Lylas (Love You Like a Sister) however there was already a girl group named The Lylas and it just so happened to be Bruno Mars' sisters. Don't mess with them, I love them (but we'll talk about that some other time).

Over the past three years they have toured with Demi Lovato and Austin Mahone and were signed to Simco Ltd which is under Epic Records and a division of Sony....hells YES! And now Reflection. It is very pop-sentric and I'm cool with that. They have a lot of catchy tunes like "Like Mariah", "them Girls Be Like" and "BO$$". I mean I totally digging this album for its catchy beats and it makes me wanna dance like an emo 16 year old but lol....I want them to just SANG. Now I know in reality the average music consumer want danceable beats and lyrics that are easily memorized but sometimes JUST sometimes, I wanna hear that ballad, that love song that rips your heart open and makes you get the lump in your chest becasue at one time or another you could relate. I want that good GOOD R&B and get that remix stank on it like it ain't the same song. A girl could dream can't she?

Never the less, when I listen to "Reflection" I can't help but think this is just a jumping off point for them. Where they can prove to their label they can sell hits. Then hopefully on their sophmore album they can expriement on a more R&B tip. You see, when they were on X-Factor they had crazy harmonies and sang along the lines of R&B/Pop so lets cross our fingers.

These ladies are talented and gorgeous. Probably the best group ever to be put together in this generation. Yes, I'm going out on a limb because I think they're the bomb. What do you think? #SOUNDOFF Tweet me at @1982Made.
