Tamia releases her first single in 3 years on a new label, Sandwich and a Soda. The single is available on iTunes tomorrow!
I mean, it’s alright….le sigh. I love Tamia, like the “So into you” Tamia, the “officially missing you” played out Tamia. This song? It caters to a different audience and a much younger audience. Tamia is 30+, happily married with two kids. I wish she would let her music grow with her. I want to hear about how hard it is to be married, what it's like to have kids and have grown up time..SOMETHING around her age range. What happened to musical integrity?
One of her lyrics in the song that made me roll my eyes was: “If you want to ride these curves, hop in your chevy nova”. New label, new sound, still R&B, the beat is good, lyrically meh. I mean the song itself doesn’t even show her range so the kids who never grew up on Tamia won’t even know about her unless they do their homework and look at her past albums.
